Pokémon Legends: Arceus owners can now unlock the legendary in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl as part of a new crossover between the games.

The games’ latest patch notes reveal that Arceus is finally coming to the Diamond and Pearl remakes today, March 16 but it’ll only be available to those who also own Pokémon Legends.

Players who do can now find a new item in their starting bedroom called the Azure Flute, and taking this to the Spear Pillar atop Mount Coronet will prompt an Arceus battle to begin.

Darkrai has also been added to Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, though players don’t require any additional games to unlock it.

Instead, players can use the Mystery Gift feature to download the Member Card item. This grants access to a locked building in the north east of Canalave City, in which a story sequence initiates that leads to the Darkrai battle.

Both legendaries are tough to catch and will require time and patience, though thankfully the Pokémon Company has released official ASMR videos to soothe that stress.

In our 7/10 review, IGN said “Pokémon Legends: Arceus is an ambitious revamp that successfully revolutionizes the defining Pokémon experiences of catching and battling, but is unfortunately set in a drab, empty, and at times tedious world.”

On the other hand, we said Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are great, as the games are “solid and enduring – leaning on the past, with all of its triumphs and tripwires.”
