Psyonix has announced that the release of RocketID, its system for allowing cross-platform parties in Rocket League, has been pushed back to 2019.

In a post, Psyonix called the delay a “difficult decision” while acknowledging that it originally planned a 2018 release for RocketID. The developer found a silver lining in the delay, however, and pointed out that it will now have RocketID prepped to work even with PlayStation 4 when it launches.

“The good news is that with Sony’s recent announcements regarding full cross-platform functionality, we can now make additional changes to prepare RocketID for ALL platforms should we receive permission to do so!” reads the post.
