Monster Hunter: World released on PC yesterday, and it’s had the biggest launch on Steam of any game on the platform this year, and is the biggest Japanese game ever released on the service by concurrent players.

SteamCharts reports that in just 24 hours, its concurrent player count peaked at 240,901 on Steam; the highest of any game on Steam so far this year, and the seventh-highest count of all time.

The previous Japanese record holder for concurrent Steam players was Dark Souls 3 with 129,831.

ResetEra member, Cyberpunk, pointed out that the day before the PC launch, Capcom’s stock opened at 3,000, the first time it’s hit that number at opening since March 27, 2000.
