We now have an official release date for the PlayStation VR2, the brand-new VR system that promises the next generation of VR technology. It will release on February 22, 2023, and that means preorders will be going live very soon (to be exact, November 15). Where Can I Preorder PlayStation VR2 (PS VR2)?

According to Sony, players will be initially able to preorder solely through PlayStation’s online store, PS Direct, on November 15. This will apply to those in U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg.

There is currently no indication of when/ if additional retailers (such as Amazon, Best Buy etc) will get access to preorders before the release date in February 2023. When Can I Preorder the PlayStation VR2?

PlayStation VR2 preorders will be live from November 15, exclusively at PS Direct in the US, UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. According to a promo email, preorders for the PS VR2 will start at 10 AM ET / 7 AM PT on November 15 in the US. Keep an eye out for this promo email from Sony, as it might contain an exclusive preorder link that’ll activate on November 15, giving you quick and easy access to secure the VR headset.

What is Included with a PS VR2 Preorder?

Each PlayStation VR2 order will include a PS VR2 headset, PS VR2 Sense controllers and stereo headphones. But, you also have another option and can also order the PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle, which will include everything already mentioned, alongside a digital code for Horizon Call of the Mountain.

How Much Does PlayStation VR2 Cost? (PS VR2 Price)

Each PlayStation VR2 order will cost $549.99 / £529.99. The Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle will be slightly more, costing $599.99 / £569.99. A PlayStation 5 console (required to use the PS VR2) currently costs $499.99 / £479.99.

Do I Need a PS5 to Use the PlayStation VR2?

PlayStation VR2 will only work with PlayStation 5 consoles. The PSVR 2 isn’t stand-alone, such as the Meta Quest 2 (aka Oculus). That means you’ll need own a PS5 to use it, and it will need to be tethered to the console using a cable as well.

What is PlayStation VR2?

PSVR2 promises a dramatic leap in performance and interactivity when it comes to VR headsets. According to Sony, PSVR2 will provide gamers an “experience new sensations with stunning 4K HDR visuals, ground-breaking new controllers and genre-defining games, all made possible by the power of PS5.”

What Games Will be Available on PlayStation VR2?

Sony has revealed 11 new titles headed to PS VR2 in 2023, and they include The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR, Crossfire: Sierra Squad, The Light Brigade, Cities VR – Enhanced Edition, Cosmonious High, Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue, Jurassic World Aftermath Collection, Pistol Whip VR, Zenith: The Last City, After the Fall, and Tentacular. While we don’t have a full launch line-up quite yet, Sony did confirm that it is “expecting more than 20 titles at launch.”

What PlayStation VR2 Accessories Will be Available?

Also launching on February 22 will be the PlayStation VR2 Sense controller charging station, which allows players to charge their controllers “through a simple click-in design, without having to connect to a PS5 console – freeing up the console’s USB ports.”
