Capcom is adding multiple new playable characters to Resident Evil Village’s Mercenaries mode, including fan-favorite vampire villain Lady Dimitrescu, where you will be able to gaze down on enemies from “nine feet above.”
Announced at today’s Capcom summer showcase, Lady Dimitrescu, fellow boss Heisenberg, and Chris Redfield will become part of the playable character line-up. This is on top of new stages and other content, such as a brand-new third-person mode, and the ability to play through Resident Evil Village’s full campaign on PlayStation VR2.
Mercenaries Mode is an arcade-style rework of the main Resident Evil Village campaign, which unlocks after you beat the game for the first time. Many will be pleased to see more from Lady Dimitrescu, after the 9’6″ vampiress became a huge Internet favorite.
We awarded Resident Evil Village an 8/10 review last year, calling it “a genuinely engrossing and increasingly combat-heavy continuation of the Ethan Winters story.” Its events look increasingly central to the Resident Evil universe too, considering Resident Evil 4 Remake may be adding new connections to the newer game.
Resident Evil Village’s DLC will be out October 28.
