Bethesda recently announced that Fallout 76 would be getting a $100-a-year subscription service called Fallout 1st. Unfortunately for Bethesda, the company neglected to claim the web domain, and it was instead taken over by a hilarious, and mildly irate, fan. FalloutFirst.com (fair warning, some of the language used in this website would make a ghoul blush) lampoons the developer for charging a subscription fee to turn a multiplayer game (which many fans didn’t want) into a single-player experience, after having already bought the game. The website ostensively parodies Bethesda’s blog post announcing Fallout 1st, right down to its layout and included graphics.

The website lays out several of the major complaints leveraged against Fallout 1st and Fallout 76, writing from Bethesda’s perspective, including how the community “has been begging for the ability to play alone in private worlds since before the launch of Fallout 76 (like what a Fallout game should be)” and saying “We’ve also received a lot of questions about playing Fallout 76 with mods and this, too, is something we will just never add.”
The identity of the individual who made the website is unknown, but according to the GoFundMe link at the bottom of the site, the creator goes by the screen name Count Chappy.
Fans React to FalloutFirst.com
This parody website gained quite a bit of traction on Reddit – most fans have reacted positively to the site’s humor and gumption for taking the domain, and continue to criticize Bethesda over Fallout 76 and Fallout 1st.
