Monster Hunter World has announced a raft of new updates, including a paid expansion pack called Iceborne, and a collaboration with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Iceborne will be available in Autumn 2019, and includes “new quest ranks, locales, monsters, moves and equipment”. Its new story will also follow from the main game’s conclusion.

Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto explained that Iceborne will be the size of previous “G” or “Ultimate” entries in the series. Pricing and an exact date will be announced later.

In a separate update, timed for early 2019, Geralt of Rivia (fully voiced by original voice actor Doug Cockle) will also become available as a playable character (presumably through an in-game Outfit, although that’s not confirmed). The update will also weave RPG elements familiar from The Witcher series into Monster Hunter World, although it’s not clear yet how that will manifest itself.
